A superb English George II burr walnut compact caddy top compact chest, of fine colour & patina. The rectangular top quarter veneered with burr walnut, feather and cross banded. A retractable brushing slide is fitted over an arrangement of four long, graduated, feather banded and quadrant beaded oak lined drawers with original brass plate handles and escutcheons. The sides of matched walnut veneers. The chest stands on the original shaped bracket feet.

The use of burr veneers to the top and drawer fronts is highly desirable attribute and is indicative of quality, the 18th century cabinet maker has obviously made considerable effort to obtain veneers which look so well when laid down on this chest. The piece retains its original handles and escutcheons and has fine colour and patina.
