A fine George II carved giltwood looking glass. The broken scrolling pediment, with floral scrolled subsidiary ears bordering a floral centre-piece. The frame circumference profusely decorated with floral decoration with oak leaf and acorn decoration to each side which border probably the original soft bevel mercury glass mirror plate. The base has tightly scrolled flanks and scalloped base, with central carved shell decoration, the ground to the frame with impressed circular scales throughout. A well sized, handsome mirror which appears in excellent untouched condition.
