A fine George II Cuban mahogany scalloped top tripod supper table. The circular top divided into ten moulded dish shaped sections, forming an outline in the form of a flower. The top tilts up and is supported by a turned, tapering vase shaped column, with a ring turned and demi-vase lower half on a tripod base of out-swept cabriole legs, terminating in a pad foot. The table retains a fine rich colour and excellent patina.
Excellent. The table has been cleaned and waxed, possible old minor restorations.
Lord Fiennes Cornwallis, Goudhurst, Kent.
