George II period giltwood and carved gesso pier mirror. The swan neck pediment to either side of a crest with a cabochon above a frieze with flowing husks. The rectangular silvered plate is beautifully patinated and set within a moulded frame. The apron with low relief acanthus carved and punched ground decoration. This mirror has excellent proportions, fine detailing throughout and a very attractive matured finish to the gilding.

Excellent. 18th century mirror plate and some refreshing to the gilding done probably in the 1960's
