A fine George II period walnut lowboy standing on four cabriole legs terminating in pad feet. The elegant front legs have carved leaf knees and original ears. The front has an arcaded frieze and each end is in the form of a cupid’s bow. The walnut veneered top is fully crossbanded with a line of herringbone inlay. The one long and two short deeper drawers are similiarly crossbanded with herringbone inlays and retain their original brass plate handles and pine linings. The walnut veneers of this very original piece are of a beautifully faded mellow colour.
