A good antique sterling silver tankard with deep chased flowers, leaves and scrolls to the body. Attractive strapwork to the handle. To the front there is a presentation inscription from the Leicester Agricultural Society. Contains 1000 ml. Weight 745 grams, 23.9 troy ounces. Height 20 cms. Diameter 10 cms (top and base). London 1759. Maker Robert Cox.
This useful drinking tankard is in very good condition with no damage or restoration. This decoration is crisp and still has good definition. Both lid and body are marked with English silver hallmarks. The decoration was added in Victorian times.
