An attractive antique sterling silver tankard of baluster shape lovely deep chased decoration to the body of flowers and scrolls. To the front there is a vacant cartouche. To one side there is a large agricultural inscription in old fashioned script. Contains 828 ml. Weight 825 grams, 26.5 troy ounces. Height 20.5 cms. Diameter of top 10 cms. Full English silver hallmarks for London 1750. Maker Benjamin Cartwright.
This beautiful tankard is in very good condition with no damage or restoration. Marked underneath with clear silver marks, the top and handle are unmarked. One small dent on the handle. The embossed decoration is deep and of excellent quality, but later done.
