An excellent antique sterling silver tankard by this important and sought after Huguenot silversmith. With the plain style typical of this date this mug has an attractive baluster shape on a spreading foot and has a simple S scroll handle with acanthus leaf. Strong form and excellent quality just as you’d expect. To the front there is a contemporary hand engraved armorial. Excellent patina. Heavy gauge silver. Contains 300 ml. Weight 318 grams, 10.2 troy ounces. Height 10.5 cms. Diameter of top 9 cms. Sterling silver. London 1737. Maker Paul de Lamerie.
This outstanding piece of antique silver is in excellent condition with no damage or restoration. The hand engraved armorial is crisp. The silver marks are clear and easy to read. Excellent colour. A fine piece of silver. Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
