Probably yew-wood. The circular two-plank tilt-top raised on a baluster-turned pillar and three downswept legs terminating in pad feet.

In ‘Early Georgian Furniture: 1715-1740’, Adam Bowett comments that blacksmith-made catches similar to the one on this table: ‘tend to be found on provincial rather than metropolitan furniture.’ (‘Early Georgian Furniture: 1715-1740′, Antique Collectors’ Club, 2009, p.251).
