The chamfered underside of the drawer rail, the scratch mouldings to the drawer front, convex quarter fillets to the drawer interior, the elegant simple handle on this table are features of the workshop of Thomas Chippendale. A pair of similar tables bearing the same distinctive chamfering under the drawer rails was supplied by Thomas Chippendale to Ninian Home for Paxton House, c 1775.
