Item Description / Dealer Expertise

A fine unusual George III mahogany and ebony line inlaid display bookcase retaining good original colour and patina. The top with scrolling rope and flower carved pediments with a central ebony line inlaid tablet. Below a dentil ebony stop filled moulding above a flame mahogany ebony lined frieze. The doors with unusual semi-circular astragals, with a lower solid section with flame veneered elliptical panels, opening to reveal an arrangement of adjustable shelves. The bottom half being low waisted with three graduated oak lined drawers, with apparently original floral cast late rococo style handles. The bookcase is supported on neat tapering bracket feet.
A fascinating piece, of unusual yet compact design, of superb quality throughout.
