A George III Mahogany and Kingwood serpentine commode. The top with serpentine front, shaped sides and banded edge rests above a finely configured arrangement of granulated serpentine draws and brush slide which bear original gilt ring pulls display exceptional cuts of vertical “orange peel” mahogany veneer which alternates between the bindings of Kingwood to the facing . the chest is supported by outward swept splayed feet joined by a shaped apron. English circa 1790.
Minor repairs to Kingwood banding.
