A very good George III mahogany bracket clock, by Alexander Campbell, London. The twin fusee, 8 day, movement with original verge escapement striking the hours on a bell. The case with broken arch form, with circular painted dial, with roman numerals to the circumference, makers cartouche "Alexander Campbell, London", original brass fish scale fretwork to the lower quarters and the sides. The rear has a broken arched glazed door revealing the elegantly peripherally engraved movement. The extremely well figured mahogany case with a broken arch brass bound single pad top, with carry handle. The clock stands on brass ogee bracket feet.
