Look at what I found on the Online Galleries website!
The mahogany case has a swan neck pediment with brass rondels, the door flanked by slender strung pillars, brass capped above a strung trunk with canted corners, and a similarly strung base.
The trunk door has an ivory escutcheon to the lock.
The elaborately detailed 12" dial is painted with a theatrical scene of Chinese dancers and musician, the fine gilt figures in superb contrast to the black background. The dial is signed JAs Robertson, Perth, and within the Roman chapter ring are subsidiary seconds and date dials. The false plate is signed R. Hipkiss. The arch has an intricately detailed Chinese temple or similar.
The eight day four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement strikes on a bell.
Original matching polished brass hands.
The movement is to be overhauled and guaranteed for 3 years.
