An impressive George III mahogany partners desk. The desk stylistically has strong resemblance to plate LXXXl in 'Chippendales Director'.

The trefoil corners to the rectangular tooled leather top translate down to the plinth incorporating large shaped graduating drawers, surrounding a kneehole. The frieze is centred by two short and one long pen drawer and a further two small drawers sit to each side.

A notably similar desk sold at Christies, London, on the 14th of May 2003, Lot 169 "50 YEARS OF COLLECTING:DECORATIVE ARTS OF GEORGIAN ENGLAND". Bought from Norman Adams, 1 May 1985.
Superb original condition including handles and escutcheons. Leather replaced with one piece hide.
Private London collection
