A fine George III period bow fronted barometer by Thomas Rubergall ( 1802- 1854 ) of Coventry Street London in finely figured ebony strung case.
See Page 92 Plate 40 of Nicholas Goodison's English Barometers.(1680- 1860) for a very similar example. Thomas Rubergall was one of the finest barometer makers of his period.
Thomas Rubergall was among a few select London opticians who sold barometers at the beginning of the 19th century, along with Robert Bancks, who was optician to George IV.
