A George III period mahogany longcase clock by Edward Blower of Beccles. The case in excellent original condition. Arch dial to the face with two subsidiary dials. The top with three period finials. Good colour and the long door beautifully figured in a rather wild mahogany.Restored and cleaned movement.

Edward (1) Market Place Beccles b. 1701 Son of Isaac, married 1728 d.1762. Also a locksmith
Edward(2) Son of above, b.1730 Succeeded him c.1762. retired 1787, died 1819.

The spandrels on this clock were used circa 1750 onwards (Cesinsky & Webster type 30) so this Longcase Clock is by Edward (1).
