Oblong Tea Caddy, circa 1785.
Of oblong form with overall tulipwood cross banding and ebonised line stringing. The hinged lid, front and sides inlaid with naturalistic sprays of flowers, opening to reveal two removable sliding lidded tea boxes inlaid with specimen flowers, the inside of the lid with corresponding panels with inlaid flowers.
