An unusually large antique horn drinking cup with a solid sterling silver mount and inner liner. Original bright gilt interior. Heavy gauge silver. Contains 475 ml. Weight of silver 176 grams, 5.6 troy ounces. Height 13 cms. Diameter 9.5 cms. London 1796. Maker Phipps & Robinson.
This attractive horn beaker is in very good condition with no damage or restoration. Clearly stamped with a full set of English silver hallmarks on the top edge and also inside. The silver liner is detachable and made of thick gauge silver. This cup has been tested for water retention and does not leak.
