A very elegant antique sterling silver waiter with a bead border and raised on ball and claw feet. Small size. Made by the highly sought after Georgian lady silversmith Hester Bateman. Hand engraved with a decoration of flowers, swags and shells. Perfect size to stand a bottle or glass. Weight 221 grams, 7.1 troy ounces. Diameter 15.8 cms. Height 2.5 cms. London 1785. Maker Hester Bateman. Makes a pair with #8231.
This pretty silver salver is in good condition. Fully marked with clear English silver hallmarks. The engraving was done later in Victorian times. The centre has a slight dishing due to an erasure - probably a crest has been removed.

Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
