An elegant antique sterling silver teapot with matching silver teapot stand. Simple classic design with oval serpentine shape and pretty bright cut engraving all over. There is a small vacant cartouche to the front. Teapot – weight 453 grams, 14.5 troy ounces, contains 1000 ml, height 17.5 cms, spread 28.25 cms, base 14.25 x 10.5 cms. Stand – weight 146 grams, 4.6 troy ounces. length 19.25 cms, width 14.5 cms. London 1799. Maker Charles Chesterman.
This delightful antique silver teapot on its matching stand is in very good condition. The hand engraving is crisp. The silver marks are clear and matching on all pieces. The teapot pours beautifully and does not leak. The hinge has a solder mark underneath which is original and how the pot was made. The handle has a tiny chip (see photo).
