A 19th century George IV mahogany barometer and thermometer by Stephen Bithray, Royal Exchange, London.

The barometer has a 10 inch silverised dial with the barometric pressures around the outer edge and inscribed with the maker's details.

The lower tip of the barometer has a spirit level to show if the barometer is held vertically and above that a knob to adjust the register needle on the dial.

The top of the barometer has a swan neck pediment with a turned urn in-between and above the hygrometer.

The thermometer is fitted along the slim neck and is held in a mahogany and glass case.

The barometer case is veneered in good quality mahogany with a box wood edge and is in good working condition. (Circa 1830)
