George IV mahogany boot and crop stand, the top section with 6 turned pegs to accommodate riding crops or hats, with a turned column down to a revolving tier to accommodate 3 pairs of boots. Raised on a platform base with three carved paw feet.
Good condition commensurate of age and use
A very similar design appears in the Gillow Estimate Sketch books, dated 1828, p. 3624. Gillow refers to this piece, on the page alongside this drawing, as a 'hat and boot stand' ("Gillow Estimate Sketch Books", Westminster Archives Centre, Westminster City Council).
