A solid oak cased mantel clock, dating to the early 20th Century. It has a shaped pediment, a central carved motif, flanked by barley twist columns, a thick bevel edge glass and an enamel dial that is signed by the original retailer, Sir John Bennett of 65 Cheapside, London.
The clock has a French 8 day movement made by Samuel Marti, that strikes the hours and halves on a gong.
Sir John Bennet's shop front is now in the in The Henry Ford Museum.
