An early 19th century George IV brass inlaid rosewood jewellery box.

The box is made by 'Edwards manufacturer to his majesty, 21 King St, Bloomsbury London.

The box interior is fitted with seven cut glass perfume bottles and storage jars with sterling silver hall marked tops, the hall marks for London, George IV, 'AD' for Archibald Douglas and a date mark for 1835/1836.

The box has three compartments with leather covered lids and a manicure set on a tray.

This whole tray lifts out to a second tray below which also lifts out and underneath is a pair of leather fronted drawers which are silk lined.

The underside of the lid is a green velvet covered panel that falls forward and has on it's reverse side a gold tooled leather stationery folder with the 'Edwards' manufacture stamp.

The underside of the lid has a leather covered lift out dressing mirror with a stand and the fitted tray with the manicure set also holds a 'Morden' Pencil, corkscrews and needles.

The box is in very good condition with a working Brahma lock and key and brass military plate handles. (Circa 1835)
