Interesting Early Georgian Mahogany Hall Settee / Bench / Settle in the most unusual Sgabello fashion copying the design of the familiar single hall chair . Typical grand country house hall seat .
Extraordinary in its shape and construction and having the most wonderful untouched surface - patina. The Sgabello is a stool typical of the Italian Renaissance with the legs connected either by two boards or stretchers for support .
A most decorative piece - not seen before in our sixty years of collecting and dealing - and would be suitable for the serious collector .
Excellent country house state - wonderful rich mahogany .
