An antique English provincial silver teapot of oval serpentine shape having a domed top, bands of bright cut engraving and bead borders. Hand engraved to the front there is a crest and to the back a monogram, each in a delightful pin prick cartouche with ribbons. Contains 1175 ml. Weight 581 grams, 18.6 troy ounces. Spread 31 cms. Height 18 cms. Newcastle 1811. Maker Langlands and Robertson.
This pretty teapot is in excellent condition with no damage or restoration. The silver marks are clear and easy to read (lid unmarked which is normal for provincial silver of this date). The hand engraving is crisp. Excellent quality inset hinge. There are a couple of small dents on the spout.
