Of hunting interest. An antique sterling silver drinks flask of tapering oval design having a screw cap and inner silver mounted cork. To one side there is an atmospheric countryside scene showing a gentleman shooting a rifle and accompanied by his retriever dog. The scene is excellently executed with the figure in full hunting apparel (with various bags around his shoulder) and the background rich with naturalistic detail. The other side is deeply chased with flower, scroll and leaf detail and has an engraved crest with faint traces of old fashioned script below, probably the name of the original owner. Weight 223 grams, 7.17 troy ounces. Length 19.25 cms. Width 8 cms. London 1816. Maker Charles Price.
