A George III silver snuffers tray made in 1787.Oval form with raised pointed ends.
Hallmarked on the reverse, as shown, and with a contemporary crest in the center.Finished with fine "bright cut" hand engraving.

These trays were originally made as bases for candle snuffers or wick trimmers but today are popularly used as pen trays.
