A fine Victorian strike repeat alarm carriage clock in an engraved cannallee-style case with engraved gilt mask to the perfect white enamel dials. Complete with leather carrying case.

The Roman dial has an outside minute track, and is signed Muirhead and Sons, Paris and Glasgow.

Original blued steel breguet hands.

The eight-day movement strikes and rings the alarm on a bell, with the original silvered lever platform escapement.

The photos show this clock currently awaiting overhaul.

Height 6¾ inches with the handle up.
To be overhauled and guaranteed for 3 years.
James Muirhead & Son was a well known Scottish clock, watch and chronometer retailers, at one time also with an outlet in London.According to Brian Loomes' Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World James Muirhead and Son, Buchanan Street, 1860-1874....Makers to the Admiralty. They styled themselves of Paris, indicating they probably sold imported French clocks.
