A very nice framed golfing chromolithograph after J. Hassall, "The Bunker" depicting a golfer about to play out of a bunker being watched by his caddie, whilst in the background his female partner and her caddie also look on.
John Hassall was born in Kent in 1868 and lived until 1948. He was one of the most influential illustrators of the early twentieth century and illustrated ads, prints, pottery and postcards in England. He was a contemporary of Cecil Aldin and similarly a member of the London Sketch Club and produced several well known golfing images.
