A fine gorge-cased carriage clock with striking eight-day movement by Henri Jacot, one of the most highly respected of carriage clock makers of the Victorian era.

The case has been regilded , and is in excellent condition with the bevelled glasses to all sides as new, and a large rectangular glass in the top to view the platform.

The backplate of the movement is stamped with the trademark for Henri Jacot, and numbered 11715, dating it to the very late 1890s. It strikes the hours and the passing of the half hour on a coiled gong.

The clock retains its original silvered lever platform escapement.

The perfect white enamel dial has Roman numerals within an outer minute track, and blued steel spade hands.
