Manuel Trinidad was born in Granada (Spain) on July 22, 1936.
As an adolescent, he studied at the "Escuela de Artes y Oficios" (Fine Arts and Crafts School) in Granada, whilst his father was a member of the "Circulo Artistico de Granada" (Artistic Circle in Granada).
In 1948, he moved to Barcelona where he worked and attended the "Escuela de Bellas Artes de San Jordi" (San Jordi School of Fine Arts).
All the tumultuous events surrounding his early life strongly influenced his interest in surrealism and gave him the opportunity to get familiar with the works of Magritte, Tanguy, de Chirico, and others. In 1956, he moved to Caracas, Venezuela where he worked as an architecture sketcher with Carlos Raul Villanueva at Universidad Central de Venezuela, but all the while he continued painting. In 1964, he decided to switch to painting professionally. In 1967, he organized his first one-man show exhibition at Galeria Arte Moderno (Caracas-Paris). From then on, he organized many solo exhibitions and participated in various group exhibitions in different cities such as New York, Paris, and Madrid.
He returned to Barcelona in 1970, contacted local artists and studied graphic arts at Joan Miro's studios. In 1978, he moved to Paris but also worked in Madrid and Barcelona.
Manuel’s work has always attracted admiration of critics and collectors worldwide for both for its sheer quality and his sense of invention.
