HARVESTING THE WHEAT
WITH THE SURREY COUNTRYSIDE BEYOND
Flourished 1880 – 1910 Signed
Oil on canvas 20 x 30 inches
Framed size 25 ¾ x 35 ¼ inches
Warren was an English School painter of landscapes.
There is very little recorded about his life and it is quite possible that it is not his real name but a ‘non de brush’. This was quite common in the Victorian era where artists were contracted to one gallery under their own name but would supply works to other galleries under an assumed one.
His landscapes capture the typical countryside scenes of the late Victorian era.
