Attractive and good quality pair of mahogany cased bulkhead clock and barometer/ thermometer [Diameter: 7in / 18cm]; the 8-day clock with engraved, silvered brass dial, of typical style, signed by the makers; and the barometer and curved mercury Fahrenheit thermometer dial also numbered 2034. Both dials protected by bevelled plate glass, inset into brass bezels.
Henry Hughes was a noted manufacturer of precision marine instruments, working from premises in Fenchurch St. from 1830 until his death in 1879, his son, Alexander, having joined him in 1866.
