Burch, Henry Jacob b.1763
Born 1763 in London. Entered the R.A. Schools 25th March 1779, aged 16. Exhibited at the R.A. Society of Artists and S.B.A., 1787-1834.
Burch exhibited a portrait of his father in 1814. He occasionally signed H Burch in Roman letters. His work is very attractive and is reminiscent of that of W Wood.
He painted miniatures in watercolour and oil and executed cameos, intaglio and wax portraits. Examples of his work are in the V. & A. Museum and the B.M. has engravings after his portraits.
