Later half-calf and marbled paper over boards, semi-raised bands, spine in six panels, morocco title label to second panel, remaining panels with central flower tool, small roundels to middle of each side and a small flower corner piece. Very slightly rubbed, internally, apart from foxing to the bookplate, quite bright and clean. Previous owners armorial bookplate to front pastedown. Jarves founded and edited the 'Polynesian', the first newspaper published in the Hawaiian Islands (Hill). Hill 879
