The complete signed edition is offered here, comprising the facsimile sketchbook with marbled boards and quarter buckram, the softback texts and essays and the original box to house the books.

In "Martha's Vineyard and other places", Hockney writes about his post polaroid work, when he returned to the methods instilled in him from his training at the Bradford School of Art, to carry, use and keep sketchbooks.

The text is edited by Nikos Stangos, who states that "There is no limit to the delight created by an artist's exuberance; it gives us the pleasure of seeing what is in front of our eyes as if for the first time. A sketchbook may hold even greater delights,because it reveals the artist's mind and eye at work without deliberation as to the final result or self-consciousness."

The signature, to the top of page one recto, is very clear.
The box container has some tears and wear; this does not detract from the collection.
