H.R.H Princess Elizabeth, later Landgravine of Hesse-Homburg (1770-1840) wearing a black dress trimmed with lace, a white veil secured with
jewels, gold hoop earrings and pearl necklace
Gilt-metal frame with blue glass reverse

For another portrait by Andrew Robertson of the Princess wearing identical dress see Richard Walker, The Eighteenth and Early nineteenth Century miniatures in the Collection of Her Majesty the Queen, 1992, p. 390 plate 899. Engleheart was made limner to King George III in 1790. Whilst there appears to be no record of Princess Elizabeth, the third daughter of King George, in the fee book it is plausible that Engleheart would not have charged for such a commission
