A London genre painter,watercolourist and engraver.He studied with Dalziel bros,the engraver and Illustrators.
In 1863 he began to exhibit at the Royal Academy,continuing until 1918. He also exhibited at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters,the Royal Society of Artists,Birmingham, Walker Art Gallery,Liverpool,and elsewhere.

"Idle Hours" depicts the delightfully humorous scene,of the idle housemaid reading from the bookcase,rather than attend to her work.
George Goodwin Kilburne's fine work is much sort after by collectors.
Excellent. presented in original exhibition mount and frame.
