An very rare Art Deco bronze and ivory sculpture, being one of only two cast for Rosenthal und Maeder. "Paracute Girl", a cold painted bronze and carved ivory table lamp. The linen shade forming the parachute from which the falling aviator is suspended, her Ivory head carved with cap and goggles, and Ivory hands, upon a swirling bronze base. The linen shade now replaced, to form the segments of the parachute. Richard Lange, was the son of the sculptor Sebastian Lange, and studied in Nuremberg and then Berlin and Rome. Recognised for his fine quality work, that optimised the Art Deco style. Examples of his work are amongst the most iconic of the Deco period, with this sculpture often used to illustrated the Deco style.
