A very large 19th century Victorian solid camphor wood chest or trunk.
The Anglo-Chinese chest has a hinged lid and decorative brass carrying handles.
The chest has brass banding to the corners and lower edge, the banding is shaped at the ends.
The chest is constructed from six large panels of camphor wood, one for each side and the lid and has retained the wonderful aroma of camphor each time the lid is lifted.
The chest is in good condition but does have marks from use over the years. (Circa 1870)
Height 69cm (27 inches)
