Made C.1860, most likely by Butler of Dublin, it has an extravagant triple-bowed front punctuated by heavy and generous festoons of pomegranates and foliage.
The central two doors are completely covered with stylised carved foliage on a "frosted" background, the top edge and the top of the plinth being similarly carved, as is the moulding above the doors.
Most unusually, behind the curved glass doors, in lieu of the traditional velvet or silk lining, the interiors and shelves are completely veneered in burr walnut of the same calibre as the exterior.
