This charming little tray is in good condition with no damage or restoration. The silver marks are still clear. The top surface shows no signs of erasure and there are a few surface imperfections. There are no splits on the outside edge although some scallops are not even (see photos).

Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
Tea drinking became fashionable during the first half of the 18th century and part of the hostess’s tea silver would have been a spoon tray. On this would have been placed a teaspoon and a mote spoon (for straining tea leaves). These spoons were made by specialist flatware makers and are never found with these trays.
