A portrait miniature of a young boy with hazel eyes wearing a black jacket and waistcoat and white chemise with a frilled collar. Watercolour in an oval gold frame the reverse glazed to reveal the artist's signature and address and date.

Additional Information: ISAAC WANE SLATER Born in Kensal Green 1784, exhibited at the Royal Academy 1821-36. Some of his miniatures show influence of Richard Cosway. He painted well in quite bold colours. A miniature of the Hon. Mrs Augustus Phipps painted by Slater is in the V & A Museum. Slater died in London on 17 April 1846.
