This impressive antique George V sterling silver and ivory conductor's baton has a tapering cylindrical form.

The baton is fitted with a central mount incorporating a screw fitting which allows the baton to be separated into two sections.

The central mount and the handle terminal of this impressive antique conductor's baton are embellished with finely chased floral and leaf decoration.

The decoration to the centre mount incorporates a rectangular cartouche which displays the contemporary engraved inscription 'Presented to Sam Myers by Hulme Public Prize Band. September 1914'.

The baton features a plain hallmarked silver gilt tip to one end.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the handle and part hallmarks to the tip have wear in keeping with age; the hallmarks to the handle are worn, but those to the tip remain legible.
