This very fine spoon has a large fig shaped bowl and facetted stem. The cast finial is palely gilded and is modelled as St Andrew, holding the Saltire Cross. The top of the nimbus is decorated with a dove. This spoon is in excellent condition and has a good colour. James Cluatt was apprentice to William Cawdell and was free by 1604. He was presumably dead by 1627. The spoon is marked with the b date letter for 1619 and his maker's mark of C enclosing I.

Length: 7.45 inches, 18.63cm.
Width of bowl: 2.1 inches, 5.25cm
