Large Size Japanese Bronze Sculpture of a Standing Roaring Lion on its Original Wooden Carved Base. Marked: Kakuha-Sei stands for Kakuha Kanzaemon IX or Kakuha Zenjiro member of a metalworkers family from Toyama. In 1869 he started a Retail company in the port of Yokohama for the export of bronze sculptures and he was a retailer for foreign customers in Japan. He commissioned bronzes from various artists, for example from Sano Takachika.
