Item Description / Dealer Expertise

A large early 20th century Japanese Satsuma pottery temple jar and lid.

The jar is profusely decorated with deity, some of the figures and decorations in relief and highlighted in gilt. The dome top lid has a dragon painted on the top with birds and trees around the edge.

The vase is in very good condition, though there is some minor crazing and rubbing of the gilt and a small hairline in the base. (Circa 1920)
