Japanese silver and enamel okimono of a rooster standing on a tree trunk, signed with incised characters Issei, late Meiji Period.

The artist Hasegawa Issei 長谷川一清 whose art name was Gyokutosai 玉東斎 worked in Tokyo during the Meiji Era. He exhibited at the 1893 Chicago Columbus Exposition, at the Liege Exposition in 1905 and at the Paris Exposition of 1900 exhibiting silver vases, incense burners and birds subject. For examples of his works see the Kyoto Sannenzaka Museum.
